Round 7
61 | Matt Hasselbeck | 64 | QB | 8th QB taken |
62 | Chris Chambers | 83 | WR | |
63 | Terry Glenn | 78 | WR | small reach, best available not on same bye week as other 3 WR |
64 | DeAngelo Williams | 192 | RB | many better RB's out there |
65 | Mark Clayton | 195 | WR | |
66 | Vernon Davis | 71 | TE | |
67 | Vincent Jackson | 136 | WR | Sleepers being taken in 7th round |
68 | Bernard Berrian | 191 | WR | this is why I took Glenn |
69 | Vince Young | 120 | QB | 9th qb taken, everyone has one except me |
70 | Joey Galloway | 70 | WR | Looked nice but bye week problems |
So strange pick here with Glenn. Again it was one of those things where if I did not get a decent WR here, I would have no good backup. Threre are plenty of backup running backs left, and slim pickings on the wide receivers. I looked at Galloway, but Glenn had a different bye week then all my starting 3. That makes a big difference in my book.
Also, I note that all teams have a QB except me. I did not want Young or Hasselebeck. Of course, someone has to start looking around and saying out loud "someone does not have a QB? 9 have been taken." That is ok, let them talk about whatever. I have Romo and/or Rivers on my radar now, and I plan on getting both.
It would have been very easy to get a good running back here, with Jamal Lewis, Ahman Green, Deuce Mcallister, Cadillac, and a host of others all still available. That was the thing though, I only saw one real WR that I could use as a backup that was worth anything, and I was pretty sure I could still get one of these guys next round. If Deuce did not share the same bye week with Jones-Drew, I would have taken him here. 15 picks, just hoping for a starting RB left for me to take as my backup.
