Round 5
Pick # Player Rank Position My Thoughts
41 | Thomas Jones | 21 | RB | Great Value pick here |
42 | Marshawn Lynch | 23 | RB | only 18 running backs taken so far |
43 | Randy Moss | 50 | WR | pretty happy this is my 3rd WR |
44 | Lee Evans | 59 | WR | |
45 | Braylon Edwards | 108 | WR
46 | Hines Ward | 79 | WR | 20th WR taken, more WR's drafted then RB's |
47 | Todd Heap | 45 | TE | 2nd TE taken |
48 | Laveranues Coles | 62 | WR
49 | Darrell Jackson | 86 | WR
50 | Calvin Johnson | 111 | WR | 23rd WR taken |
So maybe it was a small reach for Randy Moss here, but I really did not like any of the WR's left, and I did not see any value drafting any of the TE's at this time. I also did not like my chances of getting a quality WR 15 picks from now. Gonzales, Shockey, Heap, and Winslow are all pretty much the same player. Many of these guys need receivers and running backs before they need a TE. I am glad I have all my WR's taken care of, and I love Randy Moss as my number 3 wide receiver.
I also was very careful with bye weeks with the WR's as well, and have all 3 of my starting receivers on different bye weeks. I am glad I am done with these, slim pickings from here on out for wide receivers.
I also note that Clinton Portis is still available, and I will draft him next round if he gets to me. 23 WR's drafted, and only 18 RB's.
